Winnipeg police are urging the public to be on the lookout for a man wanted in connection with the 2024 kidnapping and murder of an Ontario man.

Officers gave an update to the warrant issued for Chad Jason Dandan, who is wanted for first-degree murder, kidnapping and extortion.

Police say Dandan, 24, is believed to be in northern Manitoba and could be driving a dark coloured SUV.

He is wanted in connection with the September 2024 death of Zeyad Vifan Shammo. Officers say he was found dead inside a home in the 100 block of Bristol Avenue in Winnipeg. Shammo had been reported missing four days earlier from Bridge Lake Drive.

Two other suspects, both 26-year-old men, were previously charged with first-degree murder, kidnapping, and extortion in connection with the death. They were detained in custody.

Dandan is about five-foot-six with a medium build and weighs roughly 140 pounds.

Police said Dandan may be armed and dangerous and should not be approached.

Anyone with information about his location is asked to call 911, Crime Stoppers or Winnipeg police at 204-986-6219.

None of the charges have been tested in court.
