Winnipeg firefighters tackled a pair of blazes Saturday morning.
Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) members responded to a house fire on Aberdeen Avenue at 9:14 a.m. They were able to put out the fire in about 20 minutes.
Firefighters searched the house but didn’t find anyone inside. No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
WFPS crews were then called to an apartment building on Roslyn Road at 10:10 a.m. They attacked the fire and declared it under control within an hour. No injuries were reported.
According to a news release, it’s believed the fire was an accident and likely the result of someone not putting out a cigarette butt properly.
