Manitoba continues to live up to its wintery weather reputation, with extreme cold and snowfall warnings in effect for some parts of the province.
On Saturday, Environment and Climate Change Canada issued an extreme cold warning for northeastern Manitoba all the way to Southern Indian Lake. Wind chill values of -45 or lower are expected throughout the weekend.
Central areas including The Pas and Swan River are under a snowfall warning. A low pressure system over Saskatchewan will bring between 10 and 15 centimetres of snow to the parts of the Prairies overnight.
The snow is expected to taper off by Monday.
Manitobans are encouraged to dress according to the weather and watch for signs of hypothermia or frostbite. Travelers are also asked to use caution when driving on the roads due to reduced visibility and accumulating snow.
