The Brandon Police Service (BPS) has made two arrests in connection with a Canada-wide online child exploitation investigation called ‘Project STEEL.’

From Feb. 17 to 28, law enforcement partners across the country took part in the operation, which was led by the RCMP, Ontario Provincial Police, and the Sûreté du Québec. This resulted in the arrests of 106 suspects and the seizure of 1,132 electronic devices.

In Brandon, police executed five search warrants to find evidence pertaining to child pornography, which led to the arrests of an 18-year-old man and a 20-year-old man.

Two other investigations remain ongoing.
