The Office of the Chief Medical Officer of Health has confirmed a case of listeriosis in Manitoba. The case is suspected to be linked to the current national outbreak.
The infected man is in his 60's, and has an underlying chronic medical condition.
He is from the Assiniboine health region, and is currently in hospital recieving treatment.
This is the third case of listeriosis reported in Manitoba in 2008.
Two cases were reported earlier this year, one in January and one in February.
They are not linked to the current national outbreak.
According to the province, on average Manitoba has four cases of listeriosis each year.
