A leak at a downtown Winnipeg apartment complex sent residents scrambling months after a flood at the same building displaced hundreds of people.
Min Jung was getting ready for work Wednesday morning in his apartment at Holiday Towers North when the electricity went out and the water shut off.
“I had to move out, and I’m currently just staying at a café and waiting for my girlfriend to finish work so I can come over and stay over at her place.”
CTV News Winnipeg observed water spilling into the streets outside the Hargrave Street building Wednesday morning, as a private plumbing company pumped water from the building.

Min said he didn’t get an evacuation notice from building management, and was waiting to hear if he would have to find somewhere else to stay that night.
The City of Winnipeg told CTV News Winnipeg in an e-mail statement it shut off the section of the water main that services the area so a private contractor can begin repairs.
CTV News Winnipeg reached out to WRE Development, the company that manages the building, but has not heard back.
This comes after hundreds of people were evacuated from the complex in August when a pipe was opened on the 12th floor.
Winnipeg Police Service’s major crimes unit launched an investigation.
