30-year-old man dead after shooting in West End

A 30-year-old man has died after an early morning shooting in the West End.

Winnipeg police say they were called to the 400 block of Agnes Street just before 1 a.m. on Tuesday for a report of shots fired.

Officers found a man with injuries consistent with being shot.

They gave him emergency first aid before he was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

He later died.

His death is being investigated as a homicide.

Officers say the man was identified as Brenton Sean Paul Harper, 30. He was a member of Garden Hill First Nation but was living in Winnipeg.

His family has been notified.
