The kick-off to Kordazone Theatre’s season is a week away, and the first production is a three-time Tony-award-winning musical.

It’s unique and has an unusual name “Urinetown” - but don’t let the name throw you off. This musical is a clever satire of the legal system and capitalism, following a 20-year drought and severe water shortage.

In this world, citizens must use public amenities. The score, music, and humour sets this production apart. Big laughs fueled by intelligent humour and a sparkling lineup of musical numbers are highlights of this story for the stage.

Urinetown’s opening night is Friday, Feb. 7. Kordazone Theatre is located at 2520 Seminole St. in Windsor.

Tracey Atin is the creative director of Kordazone Theatre and the director of this production.

Atin is excited about this engaging musical and what’s in store for the audience.

“It’s also something unique and brand new,” said Atin. “So, it manages to be both at the same time - to pay homage to the past and to be something just absolutely innovative.”

Tickets are $30.00 (general admission) and can be purchased in advance online, calling 226-674-1002, or at the door - cash and debit only.
