Suspect took out a loan, purchased a car in Windsor victim’s name: WPS

Windsor police is looking for help from the public in identifying a woman that allegedly used a fake identity to purchase a vehicle.

According to police, on Jan. 27, the financial crimes unit began investigating after a victim reported that a vehicle had been registered in their name fraudulently.

Investigation revealed that the suspect had opened a bank account and taken out a loan in the victim’s name, using that loan to purchase a vehicle in Mississauga.

The suspect is described as an Indigenous woman in her twenties or thirties, medium build, fair completion, black hair and brown yeyes.

She is wanted for several charges including fraud over $5,000, identity theft and identity fraud, use of a forged document and more.
