One person is facing an impaired driving charge after Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere programs in LaSalle, Windsor and Amherstburg on St. Patrick’s Day.
LaSalle police conducted the RIDE program at various locations within the town Monday.
The officers canvassed approximately 556 vehicles and conducted four roadside sobriety tests. One motorist was arrested and charged with Operating with Over 80mgs of Alcohol, which resulted in their licence being suspended for 90 days and their vehicle being impounded for 7 days.
Officers also issued 34 cautions under the Highway Traffic Act.
In Windsor and Amherstburg, members of the Traffic Enforcement Unit also conducted a RIDE program at several locations.
Over 1,100 vehicles were checked, with 28 roadside tests administered and zero impairments detected.
