The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit is offering a vaccine clinic to anyone who may have been exposed at the Erie Shores Walk-In Clinic.

Health officials are asking anyone who visited the clinic on March 11 between 12:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. or the Real Canadian Superstore on Talbot Street on March 8 between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., to monitor for symptoms.

If you attended either of these locations and are unvaccinated, the health unit strongly recommends a dose of vaccine to help prevent a measles infection.

The clinic is bein held today in the Emergency Department at Erie Shores HealthCare (Hospital) from 8:30am until 7:00pm.

When you arrive at the hospital, you are asked to call the Emergency Department before entering at 519-326-2373 and press 4400.

This will allow the team to schedule your arrival and limit exposure.

If you are immunocompromised, have a child 12 months of age or younger, or are pregnant, please contact the WECHU as soon as possible to confirm whether there are additional treatments that may be available to you.

In response to the increase in confirmed and suspected measles cases , Erie Shores HealthCare is temporarily implementing hospital-wide visitor restrictions for children under 16, effective immediately and until further notice.

Anyone arriving at Erie Shores HealthCare will undergo measles screening at all hospital entrances.
