A bodybuilder from Leamington has placed second at Speaker Slam’s first competition of the year.
Richie Keirouz delivered a speech on the topic of resilience on Tuesday. He will now move onto the “Grand Slam – The Inspirational Speaking Finals.”
“Winning second place at Speaker Slam was an incredible experience,” said Keirouz.
“Stepping onto that stage was about more than just competing -- it was about sharing my story in a way that could help others see their own strength. If there’s one thing I want people to take away, it’s that it’s never too late to rewrite your story and push for something greater.”
Keirouz is a Canadian national bodybuilding champion, a self-development coach, and a motivational speaker. His speech, “Rock Bottom to Limitless”, talks about his journey overcoming adversity. A few years ago, Keirouz lost his business, which led to unhealthy habits, and he had to change his mindset and rebuild his life.
“Richie’s discipline and ability to push past limitations is truly inspiring,” said Dan Shaikh, co-founder of Speaker Slam.
“What he’s done at 47 years old is proof that it’s never too late to transform your life. He’s not just sharing a speech – he’s showing people what’s possible when you commit to resilience, self-mastery, and the power of never giving up. We’re honoured to have him on our stage.”
First place in the competition went to Regula Fischer from Zurich, Switzerland with “The Call That Changed My Life”.
The event was co-hosted by Tecumseh native Danielle Campo, who won last year’s Grand Slam and Inspirational Speaker of the Year.
