The LaSalle Police Service is informing the public about a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere program on St. Patrick’s Day.
Police say the RIDE checkpoints will be set up at various locations throughout the town.
In a social media post on Monday, police explain why they are giving the public a heads up.
“Because we don’t want to arrest you, we don’t want to suspend your licence, we don’t want to impound your car, we don’t want to do a collision report, we don’t want to do a death notification... all we want is for you to get home safe and sound,” states the post.
Revellers are encouraged to make arrangements for a safe ride home ahead of time.
Windsor police are also asking the public to make sure to plan ahead and never drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Drivers can expect to see an increased police presence on the roads.
