Buses cancelled, freezing drizzle advisory in effect for Windsor-Essex

Windsor-Essex saw an icy morning on Thursday after a night of freezing rain.

All Board Provided Transportation is Cancelled for the day for Area A - City of Windsor, and all board provided transportation is cancelled for the day for Area B - County of Essex.

Environment Canada has issued a freezing drizzle advisory which could lead to light ice build-up and slippery conditions.

Freezing drizzle mixed with light snow, is expected Thursday morning. Any snow and freezing drizzle will come to an end near noon.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Freezing drizzle can produce thin, hard-to-detect layers of ice.

Thursday Night: Partly cloudy. Wind southwest 40 km/h gusting to 60 becoming northwest 30 gusting to 50 near midnight. Low minus 8. Wind chill minus 14 overnight.

Friday: Clearing in the morning. Wind northwest 20 km/h gusting to 40. High minus 4. Wind chill minus 15 in the morning and minus 10 in the afternoon.

Saturday: Periods of snow. High minus 1.

Sunday: A mix of sun and cloud with 30 per cent chance of flurries. High minus 1.

Monday: A mix of sun and cloud. High minus 1.
