A 35-year-old man is facing charges after several arsons at a municipal park in Walkerville, and was captured with the help of a K9 officer.
According to Windsor police, just before 2:00 a.m. on March 12, 2025, police responded to report of an arson underway in the 1000 block of Ypres Avenue.
Upon arrival, police learned that six fires had been set to hydro pols and brush in the park. Windsor fire extinguished them.
Although no physical injuries were reported, however, property damage was significant.
K9 officer Timber helped to conduct a search of the area, and located the suspect nearby in the 2600 block of Walker Road. The suspect was taken into custody without incident, and charged with arson causing damage to property, possession of an incendiary device, and breach of probation.
