Victim of ‘targeted’ Vancouver homicide identified by police

A man whose death is being investigated as Vancouver’s first homicide of 2025 has been identified by police.

Brett MacDonald, 51, was found dead in CRAB Park on Saturday morning by a passerby, the Vancouver Police Department said in a news release Tuesday.

Investigators believe the homicide was targeted. No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing,” the brief statement said.

Authorities have not provided any information about the cause of death or a potential motive.
