Authorities are asking for the public’s help locating an 89-year-old woman who disappeared from a care home in Vancouver’s Kitsilano neighbourhood Thursday.
The Vancouver Police Department said the woman was last seen leaving the home – located near Cornwall Avenue and Balsam Street, close to Kitsilano Pool – around 1 p.m.
“Given the cold weather and nightfall, there are urgent concerns for her safety,” the VPD said, in a news release.
Police have been searching the neighbourhood, including with the use of a drone, but asked anyone who spots the woman to call 911 immediately and stay with her until first responders arrive.
