Mounties in Burnaby say it’s fortunate no one was injured when a dump truck crashed into a fence in the front yard of a home Tuesday.

Officers were called to the scene on Boundary Road near Regent Street around 11 a.m., according to the Burnaby RCMP.

“The dump truck did cause damage to a fence on the property and landscaping, no damage to the residence,” a spokesperson said in an email.

Photos from the scene show the truck parallel to the road in the yard, with some damage to its front end and debris from the fence strewn about.

Front-line officers were called to the area for a report of a two-vehicle collision involving a dump truck and a semi truck, police said in a statement Wednesday evening.

The dump truck reportedly “ran into the semi” at the intersection, “couldn’t stop, and swerved to avoid other vehicles,” Mounties said.

“The driver of the semi truck was uninjured and his vehicle had minor damage,” the RCMP statement reads.

“The driver of the dump truck incurred minor injuries; however, there was substantial damage to his vehicle.”

Police asked anyone who witnessed the incident or has dash cam video to contact them, adding that the investigation is ongoing.
