Police in Dawson Creek, B.C., are seeking help from the public after a drive-by shooting that took place in the city in the early hours of Friday morning.

Officers responded to reports of shots being fired in the 1100 block of 119 Avenue around 1 a.m., Dawson Creek RCMP said in a release issued Friday afternoon.

They arrived to find multiple shots had been fired at a home, said police. No one was injured during the shooting.

A suspect car that was seen speeding away from the scene was tracked down by officers, who attempted to stop the vehicle but were shot at by the people inside, said police.

When the car was relocated it was empty, and police dogs were used to help find and arrest the two suspects that had been inside.

Authorities are still searching for a third suspect, described in the statement as a man of thin build, standing at approximately 5‘8”, with brown hair and brown eyes. He has a tattoo down the right side of his neck, along his hairline, and has his ears pierced with tunnel piercings, police said.

The RCMP said the man fled in another vehicle, described as a dark-coloured 2000s GMC or Chevy pickup. The vehicle will have significant damage to its front, from “driving into a police car while evading arrest,” the statement said.

Police advise anyone who sees the man to not approach him, and instead call 911.

“We are thankful that no one was injured this morning, and are grateful for the public’s assistance thus far,” said Cpl. Brett Urano.

“We are continuing our investigation and ask any witnesses to please come forward if they have not yet spoken to an investigator.”
