Semi-automatic rifle found in the bushes of Vancouver’s Stanley Park, say police

Police in Vancouver are investigating after a firearm was found in Stanley Park on Tuesday.

According to a brief statement by the Vancouver Police Department, a semi-automatic rifle, ammunition, and magazines were found by a local resident in the bushes west of the park’s Lost Lagoon. The body of water sits near the park’s entrance.

Police are hoping to determine who owns the firearm and how it found its way into the undergrowth of the city’s major park.
