Mounties are asking for victims and witnesses to come forward after a pair of indecent acts were reported earlier this month in northern British Columbia.

The Prince George RCMP say a man exposed himself to a young woman in an empty section of a transit bus at approximately 11:30 a.m. on Jan. 13.

The woman reportedly left the bus quickly and reported the incident to police.

Investigators say the same man is believed to have exposed himself and committed an indecent act later that day inside a local movie theatre.

“The man was removed from the theatre by staff; the incident was reported to police by witnesses,” the Prince George RCMP said in a news release Wednesday.

The suspect was arrested for both incidents and was released with conditions into the care of his group home, according to the release.

“This is a complex situation that our special victims unit is aware of and is currently investigating,” Cpl. Jennifer Cooper said in the release.

The suspect is described as a heavy-set Indigenous man in his mid-30s or 40s with short dark hair.

On the day he was arrested, the man was wearing a black and camouflage jacket and grey camouflage pants, according to investigators.

Anyone who witnessed or was victimized by similar occurrences is asked to contact the Prince George RCMP non-emergency line at 250-561-3300.
