Mounties are investigating an early morning fire at a large abandoned home in Langley, B.C.
First responders were called to the blaze in the 7000 block of 204 Street at approximately 6:45 a.m. Thursday.
A statement from the Langley RCMP says police are working closely with the township fire department to determine the cause of the blaze, noting the investigation is still in its early stages.
“Motorists and other road users are asked to avoid the area and find alternate routes,” Sgt. Zynal Sharoom said in the statement.
The sprawling, boarded-up home is in a neighbourhood that has been undergoing significant redevelopment and densification in recent years.
Police are asking anyone with information related to the incident to contact the Langley RCMP.
