Police identify suspect vehicle after victim critically injured in B.C. hit and run

Police are asking for help to identify a suspect vehicle in a hit-and-run in North Delta.

Police investigating a hit-and-run crash that left a pedestrian in critical condition in a Vancouver-area hospital have released surveillance images of a suspect vehicle.

A statement from the Delta Police Department says the vehicle is believed to be a black, four-door Honda Accord sedan from 2011 or 2012. The vehicle received moderate front-end damage in the collision, police said in an update on the investigation Wednesday.

Officers were called to reports of a pedestrian hit by a car at the intersection of 66th Avenue and Scott Road at around 7 a.m. Sunday.

Investigators say the victim, a 25-year-old man, remains in hospital Wednesday in “critical but stable condition with extensive injuries.”

The suspect vehicle dropped off two passengers at the Strawberry Hill Shopping Centre in Surrey prior to the collision, according to police.

“We are looking to speak with these passengers, and we are appealing again, to the driver to contact the Delta police,” the department said in its renewed plea for information.

Anyone with information or video related to the crash or the vehicle involved is asked to contact investigators.
