A ground and air search are underway after a driver crashed a truck through the fence of a cemetery on the Matsqui First Nation Wednesday, according to the Abbotsford Police Department.
A social media post from authorities said the driver of the vehicle fled after the crash, prompting the deployment of police dogs and the Air 1 helicopter.
“Property owners in the area are urged to report any suspicious activity to police,” AbbyPD said on social media.
In an email to CTV News, a spokesperson for AbbyPD said the crash happened just after 10:30 a.m. and that the driver has not been located despite a “lengthy search.” No injuries have been reported, and police are trying to identify the owner of the vehicle, according to the statement.
