Police warned the public to remain clear of the area around North Delta’s River Road following reports of shots being fired Monday morning.
Officers were called to River Road’s 9400 block at 10:49 a.m. amid a report of gunshots in the area, the Delta Police Department said in a statement.
The suspect, described by police as a man wearing all black clothing, has fled the area, while a heavy police presence remains.
While no injuries have been reported, a vehicle with bullet holes has been found. The incident is believed to have been targeted, say police.
The request for the public to avoid the area was lifted Monday afternoon.
