Rob Buffam

Rob is a Multi-skilled Journalist with CTV News Vancouver. He has served as its Legislative Bureau Chief since 2023. Rob has extensive experience covering politics and the courts, and he has been recognized with RTDNA awards for breaking news coverage. Rob holds a Bachelor of Arts from McGill University (Political Science) and a Juris Doctor from the University of British Columbia. Rob considers himself to be something of a late bloomer, having taken the proverbial long road to journalism. He previously worked as a forest firefighter based in the Cariboo-Chilcotin region and then as a trial lawyer in the Vancouver courts. In 2008, he decided to pursue his passion. He returned to school and completed the Broadcast Journalism program at BCIT. He went on to work as a reporter and anchor at stations throughout British Columbia and Alberta. He joined the CTV News team in Victoria in 2014. Rob is a busy father of two. When he does have free time, he runs marathons slowly and plays golf poorly.
