Two drivers are in hospital following a head-on collision in Oshawa Friday morning.
Durham Regional Police said it happened on Simcoe Street North, south of Howden Road East, at around 8 a.m.
A northbound Mazda pickup truck, for unknown reasons, lost control and veered into the path of a southbound GMC SUV, police said.
The collision resulted in severe damage to the two vehicles.
Police said the driver of both vehicles, a 25-year-old man and a 52-year-old woman, were transported to Toronto-area trauma centres with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Roads in the area were closed for several hours for collision investigation. They reopened before 1 p.m.
