Police have arrested a man who allegedly assaulted two separate drivers in the span of minutes in downtown Toronto this week.
Officers were initially alerted about an assault in the area of Dundas Street West and Elizabeth Street at 7:55 a.m. on Thursday.
They allege a suspect approached a car, opened the door and assaulted the driver.
Police said the victim was able to close the door and drive away. They added the victim did not require medical attention as a result of the incident.
A few minutes later, around 8 a.m., police believe the same suspect approached another car, opened the driver’s door and allegedly assaulted the occupant.
The victim, police said, was eventually able to close the door and flee. The second victim also did not require medical attention.
Police said the suspect was shortly located and taken into custody.
They noted the suspect did not know the two victims.
On Saturday, police identified the suspect as 25-year-old N’Da Sylvain Kouaido, of no fixed address. He has been charged with mischief and two counts of assault.
Investigators released his photo as they believe there may be additional victims.
They are asking anyone with information to contact them at 416-808-5200 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477) or www.222tips.com.
