Downtown stabbing sends 1 to hospital with serious injuries

Two separate stabbings in Toronto on New Years Day Two separate stabbings, one in midtown and the other downtown, sent two man to hospital with serious injuries.

One man was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after a stabbing in the downtown core early Thursday morning, Toronto police say.

The stabbing occurred in the area of Front Street East and Tannery Road at around 3:30 a.m.

Police said the victim is believed to be in a man in his 30s.Paramedics initially said the man’s injuries were be life-threatening but investigators later confirmed that he is expected to survive.

A man in his 20s has been taken into custody in connection with the incident, police said in a post on social media.
