Chris Fox is the Managing Digital Producer for CP24 and CTV News Toronto. Based in Toronto, Chris first joined CTV News in 2011 and spent more than a decade reporting on some of the city’s biggest stories as an online journalist with CP24.com. During his time in that role, he reported extensively on Toronto City Hall and also contributed to CP24.com’s RTDNA-award winning coverage of the Toronto van attack. Chris specializes in stories about public policy and how it impacts everyday Torontonians but also prides himself on being a generalist, capable of tackling the diverse range of stories that unfold across Toronto every day. To that end, his story on the growth of women’s basketball in Toronto and the role a WNBA franchise could play in fostering it further was nominated for a Central Region RTDNA award in the sports category in 2024. Chris moved into his current role as the Managing Digital Producer for CP24 in 2022 and in 2023, took on that same responsibility with CTV News Toronto, where he is responsible for helping to set the daily editorial agenda for digital news. Since then, Chris has helped spearhead digital news coverage for multiple civic and provincial elections and a myriad of major breaking news stories, including a fiery crash on the Rainbow Bridge that brought one of Canada’s busiest border crossings to a standstill in 2023. Chris graduated from Fredericton’s St. Thomas University with a bachelor of arts majoring in journalism. He worked as a newspaper reporter with the Fredericton Daily Gleaner prior to joining CTV News. He speaks English.
