Redemption for the University of Saskatchewan Huskies who take home the 2025 women's national championship beating Carleton in a rematch from a year ago.

The University of Saskatchewan Huskies women’s basketball team won their third U-Sports national title on the weekend.

The Huskies downed the Carlton Ravens 85-66 in the national title game in Vancouver on Sunday.

Once again, the green and white were led by Gage Grassick. The U-Sports player of the year had 35 points and seven rebounds to help lift Saskatchewan to victory.

The title game was a rematch of last year’s championship matchup that saw the Ravens come out on top 70-67.

On Sunday, the Huskies were able to avenge that loss and bring home the national championship.

The Huskies pulled out of the gate with an early lead, and never looked back, taking a 45-31 advantage into half-time.

Saskatchewan continued towards offensive dominance in the second half, outscoring the Ravens in both the third and fourth quarters to win 85-66.

The Huskies offence was at the top of its game shooting 48.3 per cent from the field and over 40 per cent from beyond the three-point line.

The win gives Saskatchewan its third national title in the last 10 years. The Huskies were also crowned champions in 2016 and 2020.

Gage Grassick was named tournament MVP while her and Andrea Dodig were both named to the Championship All-Star Team.
