Police in Prince Albert have arrested three people after a cab driver was stabbed during an armed robbery Thursday morning.
At around 1:30 a.m. officers were called to the 500 block of 28th Street East for a report of an injured person. Dispatch advised that a cab driver had been stabbed, Prince Albert Police Service (PAPS) said in a news release.
Arriving officers found a man suffering from injuries consistent with a stabbing. Shortly after, paramedics arrived on scene and the victim was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Through their investigation, officers were able to obtain video surveillance and determined that two men and a woman entered the cab and at the end of the ride, one of the men allegedly struck the victim with a knife and proceeded to rob him.
Police called in the canine unit, and the dog was able to track two of the suspects to the area around 28th Street West and 4th Avenue, where officers detained a 31-year-old man and 30-year-old woman for a robbery investigation.
The third suspect, a 31-year-old man, was arrested later in the morning while officers were responding to a separate call.
The two men are facing charges relating to robbery, aggravated assault, disguise with intent and obstructing police.
