Saskatoon police say five people have been charged following a weapons and drug trafficking investigation on Friday that saw officers find a sawed-off shotgun, a crossbow, and a gold bar valued at $4,490.
A man and a woman were initially taken into custody following a traffic stop on the 10 block of Sturby Place, officers found cocaine, fentanyl, GHB, methamphetamine and cash, according to a Saskatoon police news release.
Shortly after, a woman was arrested on the 1000 block of 23rd Street West, police seized a replica airsoft piston and fentanyl. A man was then arrested inside a mall on the 3300 block of 8th Street East.
More cash, cocaine and the gold bar were seized following the arrest.
Police then searched a home on the 1000 block of 23rd Street West.
Three men, aged 35, 27 and 41 and two women, 24 and 27, are facing a combined total of 26 charges, according to Saskatoon police.
In total police seized 58.8 grams of fentanyl, 297.5 grams of powdered cocaine, 18.6 grams of methamphetamine, $8,515, the gold bar valued at $4,490, 475 ml of GHB, a loaded, sawed-off 12-gauge shotgun, three airsoft pistols, illegal cigarettes, various rounds of loose ammunition and other weapons including bear spray, a crossbow with arrows, batons, knives and a taser.
