A 32-year-old man is facing charges after an altercation on a city bus left a 50-year-old woman with minor injuries.
Police were called to the 200 block of 3rd Avenue North around 9:30 a.m. on Thursday for a report of an assault, the Saskatoon Police Service (SPS) said in a news release.
The suspect allegedly tried to force open the door of a locked bus. A 50-year-old woman intervened, and police say he pushed her to the ground. The altercation continued on the bus, with the suspect becoming verbally aggressive with other patrons, according to police.
The suspect was arrested after fleeing the scene. He has been charged with assault, obstructing a police officer, and causing a disturbance.
Police say he was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on April 30.
