Man charged in human trafficking investigation may have victims in Saskatchewan: Ottawa police

WATCH: Saskatoon police say a man Ottawa police charged in relation to human trafficking may have victims in Saskatchewan.

A 27-year-old man arrested and charged by police in Ottawa following a human trafficking investigation in March may have victims in Saskatchewan, according to police.

Anthony Badibanga-Mukendi is facing 11 charges in total including trafficking in persons by exercising control, forcible confinement and publishing an intimate image, with offences dating back multiple years, Ottawa police said.

Badibanga-Mukendi, travelled across Canada and spent time in Saskatoon. Police say he may have been involved in human trafficking in Saskatchewan.

In a news release last week, Ottawa police said Badibanga-Mukendi’s victims may not know his legal name. Investigators believe he has used the aliases Marty, Anton and Tony.

The Saskatoon Police Service is asking anyone with information to call their local station or the Ottawa Police Service human trafficking unit tip line. Information can also be submitted anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
