The Lawson Aquatic Centre hosted many hopeful divers over the weekend thanks to both the 2025 Provincial Diving Championships and the Junior and Senior National qualifying event.

After qualifying in all of his events, 17-year-old Noah Green spoke with CTV News.

“Just the pressure and being able to compete under pressure. It’s good to learn. We did six events this week, which is a lot ... it’s just the pressure and the intensity of competing against amazing people,” Green said, when asked why he enjoys events like this one.

The Junior and Senior National qualifying events include one metre and three metre spring boards, in addition to five, seven and ten metre platform boards.

Top tier divers from Regina, Saskatoon and Winnipeg competed over the weekend, in the hopes of heading to Edmonton for Nationals.

“I’m really try to enjoy the rest of the year and have fun at Nationals,” Green explained. “The whole team at Regina Diving Club is amazing. They’ve really made me love the sport again. I’m just thankful for everything.”

Green has been diving for the past ten years. He took a step back from the sport during the COVID-19 pandemic but then returned after some time off.

“I missed it a lot, so I came back. Just the adrenaline and everything, really, I loved it, and I just came back and worked harder ... it’s just like a really fun family, like our whole club and we’re just united. It’s amazing. It’s really good environment,” he said.

The athlete expressed that it will be his final year with the Regina team, and he is still looking into his options when it comes to his diving future.

However, he reiterated that the ten years he has spent with the club will be ones he fondly remembers.
