Shirtless man arrested after reported vehicle theft in Eganville, Ont.

A shirtless man who allegedly stole a vehicle in the Ottawa Valley is facing charges, according to police.

Ontario Provincial Police say officers responded to a report of a man acting erratically on Bonnechere Street East in Eganville at approximately 9 a.m. last Saturday.

“As police were responding, it was reported that a vehicle was stolen by the individual,” the OPP said in a release Wednesday morning.

“A short time later, at approximately 9:30 a.m., officers located the vehicle at a local motel in Eganville and an individual was taken into custody.”

A Bonnechere Valley Township man is facing charges of theft of a motor vehicle, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and driving while under suspension.
