Kingston, Ont. police are asking for the public’s help identifying a vehicle and driver following a suspicious incident earlier this week.
A man in a white Chrysler Town and Country minivan allegedly approached a boy who was walking home from school Wednesday in the area of St. Martha Street and Rose Abbey Drive. According to police, the man followed the child in his vehicle while asking questions, such as the child’s age, address, and whether he would be home alone.
The child did not reply, and the man drove away when an older sibling greeted the boy, police said.
While no licence plate for the vehicle was obtained, a photo of the vehicle was captured by a security camera in the area. Distinguishing features include black trim along the sides, dark tinted windows, chrome wheel coverings, and rust around the left rear wheel well.
The driver of the van is described as a white man, approximately 40 to 50 years of age, with white or greying hair.
Police are asking residents and business owners in the area to review security camera footage between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Jan. 15, 2025. Any motorists who may have been in the area at the time are also asked to review dash camera footage for the suspect vehicle.
Anyone with information regarding this incident, the driver of the vehicle, or the vehicle itself, is asked to contact D/Cst. Jamie Graham at jgraham@kingstonpolice.ca
