Ottawa police say a 25-year-old suspect has been arrested in connection with a recent homicide.

Omar Jonathan Grant, 25, was found with severe injuries on St. Laurent Boulevard the night of Feb. 15 and died in hospital. A second victim, a man in his 30s, was found at the scene with a head injury and was taken to hospital in critical condition, according to paramedics.

Police later arrested a suspect, Jacob Blanchard, 25, and charged him with second-degree murder and assault with a weapon.

The second suspect, identified as 25-year-old Samuel Laurin-Gauvreau, was wanted on a warrant for charges of second-degree murder and assault with a weapon.

Ottawa police said Monday that Laurin-Gauvreau has been arrested and will appear in court Tuesday morning.

Grant’s death was the third homicide of 2025 in Ottawa.
