The Ottawa Police Service says a 28-year-old man has been charged with multiple offences following an investigation into alleged drug trafficking throughout the city that started in January.
On Wednesday, police executed a search warrant in the Alta Vista area and found and seized cocaine, crack cocaine, oxycodone, two loaded handguns, and a large sum of cash, American and Canadian currency.
The suspect has been charged with three counts of possession of a schedule one substance for the purpose of trafficking, four counts of careless storage of a firearm, four counts of weapon prohibited device or ammunition, possession of proceeds of property or thing obtained by crime exceeding $5,000, storing a firearm contrary to regulations, four counts of possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace, two counts of possession of a restricted firearm, and 12 counts of additional firearms-related charges
He appeared in court Thursday morning.
