Police in Quebec have seized a large quantity of drugs and some weapons after executing 15 search warrants at homes and vehicles in the province, primarily in Gatineau.
Officers with Gatineau police and the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) searched 11 homes and four vehicles as part of a major operation into alleged drug trafficking linked to the Hells Angels. Searches were conducted on rue Matte, rue de Vimy, rue Lesage, Terrace Eardley, rue Dumas, rue Jean-Louis-Champagne, rue Charles, and boulevard St-René in Gatineau, as well as in Terrebonne, Mascouche, and Coteau-du-Lac, Que., near Montreal.
In a news release Thursday, the SQ said the operation resulted in the seizure of more than 26,000 methamphetamine pills, 1.2 kilograms of cocaine, 4,400 ecstasy pills, and quantities of crack, steroids, prescription drugs, and powdered methamphetamine. Police also seized three Tasers, four pepper spray canisters, various drug paraphernalia and more than $15,000 in cash.
“The purpose of the operation was to search for additional evidence related to individuals suspected of drug trafficking. The seized items could help demonstrate the involvement of one or more individuals in drug trafficking activities in various areas. The investigation into these searches is ongoing,” the SQ said in French.
No arrests or charges were announced Thursday.
The operation, which stemmed from an investigation launched in May 2024, involved more than 80 officers from the Sûreté du Québec and other police forces, with the aim of dismantling a drug trafficking network linked to the Hells Angels in the Outaouais region.
The SQ says information relating to drug trafficking or production can be communicated confidentially at any time to the Criminal Information Center at 1-800-659-4264.
