Ottawa’s new professional women’s soccer team has some official kit.
The Northern Super League (NSL) unveiled the home jerseys for the original six teams that will play in the league’s first season starting next month.
The league calls the Ottawa Rapid FC’s look “dark, powerful and unstoppable.”
“A deep black base, laced with subtle green and blue hues, reflects the rugged landscapes of the region, while bold accents streak across like flashes of lightning,” the NSL said Thursday. “Designed for a team that moves with relentless speed, this jersey embodies the energy of a storm brewing on the horizon.”
Replica jerseys for Ottawa fans are not yet available. The NSL says an on-sale date will be announced soon.
The Ottawa Rapid FC’s inaugural season kicks off April 27 at TD Place Stadium as they take on AFC Toronto. The Rapid will play 25 matches, with 10 Saturday games and five Sunday games. Thirteen matches will be played at home at TD Place.
The Northern Super League consists of six clubs: Ottawa Rapid FC, Vancouver Rise FC, Calgary Wild FC, Montreal Roses FC, AFC Toronto and Halifax Tides FC.
