A 29-year-old Quebec woman is facing charges after tips from the public helped police find a stolen vehicle west of Ottawa.
Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say an Automated Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) system in a cruiser alerted the officer to a stolen vehicle being driven on Highway 7, west of Perth, at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.
“The vehicle had been reported stolen in the Toronto area,” police said. “It was eastbound and the driver was able to avoid numerous attempts to stop the vehicle. It continued eastbound at a high rate of speed.”
