Valentine’s Day is around the corner and the Ottawa area is home to three of the top 100 romantic restaurants in the country, according to a new report.
There are two restaurants in Ottawa and one in Gatineau on the list by OpenTable this year.
Ottawa residents who are looking for a full-on Canadian dining experience can visit Riviera, which is located at 62 Sparks St.
Meanwhile, residents who are looking for a taste of Italy on Valentine’s Day can visit North and Navy, as the Italian kitchen is inspired by the Bacari of Venice. North and Navy is located at 226 Nepean St.
Gatineau’s romantic hot spot, according to the report, is Arôme - Casino du Lac Leamy.
“You will always be served the most exquisitely prepared dishes and enjoy a magnificent view of Lac Carrière,” according to a description by OpenTable.
Arôme - Casino du Lac Leamy is located at 3 Boulevard du Casino, Gatineau.
These three restaurants were on OpenTable’s “most romantic” list last year.
Among the top 100 romantic spots in the country, there are 59 restaurants in Ontario, nine in Quebec, 14 in Alberta, 16 in British Columbia, one in Nova Scotia and one in New Brunswick.
OpenTable looks at diner reviews and metrics to determine the top romantic restaurants in Canada on a yearly basis. For 2025, the list was generated from over 900,000 reviews from verified diners from Dec. 1, 2023 – Nov. 30, 2024.
