2-hour blitz results in 29 charges in Ottawa’s south end

The Ottawa Police Service has charged a total of 29 drivers during a two-hour traffic enforcement blitz in the city’s south end Friday morning.

Three people were stopped for speeding, three for an obstructed plate, two for expired plates, one for driving while suspended, and 19 for failing to move over for an emergency vehicle, the city’s police service said in a post on X.

One driver was charged with a commercial vehicle inspection infraction, police add.

Police also issued three stunt driving charges in different areas across the city on Friday.

“A 41-year-old passed an unmarked cruiser at 141km/h in 80 zone on Stagecoach Road, ”police said on X.

“A 41-year-old (was) doing 111 km/h in 60 zone on Riverside Drive south of Walkley Road. (And) a 23-year-old passed vehicles at 107km/h in a 60 zone on River Road near Balmoral Drive.”
