Teen accused of knife threat outside of Blind River, Ont., hockey rink

A 16-year-old in Blind River has been charged with threatening another teen with a knife near a hockey rink earlier this week.

A 16-year-old in Blind River has been charged following an incident outside a hockey rink on Monday evening.

Ontario Provincial Police responded around 8:15 p.m. to the rink on Indiana Avenue.

“The complainant notified police regarding a youth pulling a knife on another youth,” police said in a news release Tuesday.

“Police later spoke to all involved and arrested one person. The knife was seized and there were no injuries sustained.”

The young offender has been charged with assault with a weapon and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on March 6.
