Two people were taken to hospital after what the Greater Sudbury Police Service has called a “suspicious fire” overnight.
“The call came in at approximately 1 a.m. this morning,” said Sudbury Deputy Fire Chief Jesse Oshell in a message to CTV News on Saturday.
Police, fire and paramedics all responded to the early morning blaze on Antwerp Street.
“The fire was confined to the unit where it started and has been extinguished,” said police in a news release.
Two occupants from the residence were taken to Health Sciences North by emergency medical personnel.
Oshell said a total of four people have been displaced because of the incident.
Fire officials said they do not yet have an estimate on the damages.
Sudbury police held the scene until Ontario Fire Marshal’s investigators arrived.
The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
Police have asked anyone with any information on the fire to contact the Greater Sudbury Police Service at 705-675-9171 or Crime Stoppers.
