Sudbury — A city-run Sudbury long-term care facility is taking precautionary measures to protect its residents as many homes across the country face COVID-19 outbreaks.

Pioneer Manor says it is testing residents showing any flu-like symptoms as a precautionary measure. A cough, fever and shortness of breath are flu-like symptoms that are also commonly linked to positive COVID-19 cases.

So far, 29 residents at the facility have been tested, with no confirmed positive cases.

However, nine residents have tested positive for the common cold or cold symptoms.
