Stabbing in Sudbury’s Flour Mill sends one to hospital

Police in Greater Sudbury said one person was sent to hospital following a stabbing in the Flour Mill area of the city.

Sudbury police are investigating a stabbing in the Flour Mill area Monday afternoon.

Police responded around 1:50 p.m. to the intersection of Notre Dame Avenue and St. George Street after receiving information that someone entered an establishment on Notre Dame with stab wounds.

“Officers and Greater Sudbury Paramedics arrived on scene and located a 31-year-old, man who had sustained serious injuries,” police said in a news release late Monday afternoon.

“The individual was transported to hospital where he remains in stable condition.”

The investigation led officers to a residence on St. George, where they set up containment and “made entry into the building to ensure the safety of those who might be inside.”

“Officers cleared the building,” the release said.

“No one was located inside.”

Police are continuing to canvass the area looking for information and video surveillance footage.
