A speeding pickup truck driver is facing charges following an incident in Blind River on Tuesday afternoon.
Traffic officers with the Ontario Provincial Police were patrolling on Causley Street around 3 p.m. when the blue pickup zoomed by them.
“Police initiated a traffic stop as the pickup truck turned onto Hawkins Street,” the OPP said in a news release Wednesday.
“A query revealed the driver was wanted and was arrested for the outstanding warrant.”
A search of the vehicle uncovered two grams of what police believe to be crystal meth.
The 63-year-old suspect from Spanish is charged with drug possession and driving without an insurance card or licence.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on April 4.
